Our sale horses go to the best homes and we regularly get updates on many of the horses that we have sold in the past.
The seller will set a price for which they will sell the horse and when the horse is first moved to our facility Ashley will work with the horse a few times and get to know them and talk with the owner about a set price.
If everything looks good we continue our process of marketing and selling the horse.
Included with the program we will take pictures of your horse, produce a sales video, and advertise. We advertise through our website and we also utilize other places such as Facebook, EquineNow, Dream Horse, and other publications. If suitable for the job, your horse will be used in our show program as well as lesson program, which also helps the horse to sell. Horses are usually up for sale within 15 days from moving into the barn, depending on the horse and situation.
All fees are be paid by the seller, including our commission off of the sales price that the seller has agreed to on the horse. Sometimes Ashley will purchase the horse.
15% commission off of your selling price
$110 per month plus board ($8/day unless you provide hay and grain) stalls are available for an additional $200/month
***Owner will be billed for shots, coggins, vet, and farrier work when needed and approved***
When you bring your horse to us, we require the boarding be paid upfront, a signed consignment agreement, copy of negative coggins and all shot records, and if registered, the horse's registration papers and a signed transfer.
The seller is responsible for actions that may be required to transfer the registration of the horse when the horse sells. A current coggins is required.
Please also provide any other records you have on your horse such as vet records, show records, and copies of pictures or video.
Q: Is there any boarding fees if I provide my own hay and grain for my horse(s)?
A: No, boarding is only charged if you use our hay and grain. However, if you would like your horse to stay in a stall you will be charged $200/month.
Q: Am I required to attend all meet ups with interested buyers?
A: No, it is not required that you be present for potential buyers. However, we do allow owners to attend if they would like.
Q: Where will my horse be kept?
A: Horses that will not be stalled will have a pen that they will stay in unless owner wants them to run lose with other horses. Pens do have shade and will have plenty of fresh water and hay. If you would like your horse to be stalled while at the barn you may do so for $200- you provide hay and grain, $250 if you use our hay and grain.
Q: If I send my horse to you can I check on him whenever I want?
A: We are not a boarding facility and do not allow owners to come out to the ranch whenever they please do to liability reasons. If you would like to check on your horse you will need to make an appointment with Ashley ahead of time. It is usually not a problem
Q: If a potential buyer decides to take my horse for a trial run what happens?
A: You are not required to allow trial runs but it is recommended. Trial runs are $100/week that the horse is gone which will be given to the owner. This fee is charged because the owner loses time for other potential buyers to check out the horse. The buyer will be responsible to pay the entire price of the horse upfront and if they decided to buy the horse the sale will be final and no additional fees will be added on (the $100/week is included in the price). If the buyer decides to not buy the horse they will be refunded the amount minus the fee for each week the horse was gone and that fee will be given straight to the owner not Ashley. For example if a horse was for sale for $5000 and a potential buyer takes the horse for a trial run for 2 weeks they will pay $5000 up front and if they decide to keep the horse they will fill out the bill of sale, if they decide to return the horse they will be refunded $4800.
Q: Will my horse receive any training while he is up for sale?
A: Yes, Ashley will work your horse while he is at the ranch. However, the horses will not go through the bootcamp program unless you pay for the program. Horses will just be exercised and fine tune what needs to be fixed. This is one reason why if you back out before your month is up or when your month is up you will not receive any refunds.
Q: Is it possible to change my horses price after a few months of selling?
A: Ashley will keep you updated about price changes. Horses will continue to be worked so price can always go up or if no luck can go down. We never really have price changes happen because horses don't take that long to sell.
